PSHE
PSHE is an important and necessary part of all pupil’s education at Front Lawn. They will be equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to be successful in life beyond school through using and developing ‘positive powers’. They will learn how to Work hard, Imagine, Not give up, Persevere, Understand others and Try hard.
Content and Sequencing
- PSHE is split into the three milestones and linked to the school’s positive powers.
- The skills and knowledge are developed through circle time activities and linked to that classes’ needs.
- Thrive analysis also supports the content of PSHE lessons.

Year 3 PSHE Planning - Summer 1 Wk 2 - Morning Circle Time UO
Retrieval Practise
Every day starts with circle time to ensure that children are ready to start the day and learn to the best of their abilities.
Positive powers are used and highlighted in every lesson encouraging the children to recognise which skill they have used in order to be successful that lesson. These are also used in discussion with the children regarding their behaviour choices and approach to learning
Assessment
PSHE is assessed each Term. Teachers identify who is exceeding expectations and children who are not meeting the expected standard. Teachers will be mindful of any significant groups who are not making progress and ensure they keep a close eye on them the following term.
Ambassadors
Children who exceed expectations in PSHE often become part of one of our ambassador groups. These groups have action plans for school improvements and often visit different parts of our local community. They are compassionate, emotionally intelligent and articulate. They are ambassadors for our school.
Learning Environments
We ensure our learning environments are immersive and topic driven.
Zones are set up within the classroom to allow children to demonstrate a particular positive power.
We spend time talking to our children in all year groups about the importance of staying safe online.
